Week 3 - Monday
Releasing Self-Criticism
That mean inner voice with…nothing but negative.
Self-Criticism is: That inner voice that’s always focused on all your faults and shortcomings.
That voice rarely has good things to say.
Silence it: Notice it, stop believing it as fact, and counter it.
For some of us, the inner critic is so constant, we just let all those criticisms roll by.
When we just let the dialogue run, we’re unconsciously accepting it as true.
So, the first thing we need to do is disrupt the flow of negativity and notice what we’re thinking.
You won’t make much progress if you criticize the critic and treat yourself like there’s something wrong with you.
So, notice it with compassion and realize that most people experience negative self-talk; some of us just have more of it than others.
HOW TO DISRUPT THE PATTERN
From a place of curiosity, notice what you’re thinking and then ask yourself…
How is this not true?
What could be equally true that’s more supportive?
In other words, start talking back to the inner critic!
Let me know what you think in the comments.
What does your inner critic sass you with?
